Welcome to our LDI special. In our LDI series we will be speaking to some of the people who will be speaking or exhibiting at this year’s LDI show running from November 14 - 20 at the Las Vegas Convention centre. Today our guest is Maya Guice, the Marketing Director for BRC Imagination Arts.
Maya has a unique set of skills that qualify her for one of the most challenging tasks at BRC: telling the story of a company that tells the stories of some of the most renowned brands, subjects, and places around the world. As Marketing Director, Maya oversees all brand, communication, and marketing-related activities. This requires that she sit at the intersection of teams and people, using research and analytics to inform strategy, problem-solve, and either build bridges or reinforce them.A Los Angeles native, Maya has lived and worked in London and Berlin. Before joining BRC, Maya consulted creative and design agencies on their business development and growth strategies. Maya received an M.B.A. from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and her B.A. from Scripps College. Maya danced professionally for over 18 years, the highlight of which was an experience touring Africa as a Cultural Ambassador with the U.S. Department of State.

Welcome to our LDI special. In our LDI series we will be speaking to some of the people who will be speaking or exhibiting at this year’s LDI show running from November 14 - 20 at the Las Vegas Convention centre. Today our guest is Bob Bonniol.
Bob is an Emmy Award winning director, production designer, and producer. He is known for his implementation of extensive media and interactive features in his productions and installations. In 2021, Bob founded metaMODE as a laboratory and consultancy for metaverse based strategy and activation. Since 2020, Bob has served as creative director for Panasonic’s massive installations at the Consumer Electronics Show. In 2021 he won multiple Telly Awards for his creation and production of the Panasonic CES Virtual Experience.In 2019 he served as a screens producer and content artist for Occulus’ projection mapped takeover of the Los Angeles Theater premiering their new product Quest, appeared as featured VJ at the Amazon re:MARS conference, as well as designing the holographic Light Weave sculpture for Nordstrom’s new Manhattan flagship store Broadway Entrance.In 2018 he won the Knight of Illumination award for his creative direction of the massive renovation of The Core at General Motor’s World Headquarters in Detroit. The installation, GM World, features the largest AI driven interactive LED screen array on earth and creates a permanent immersive experiential venue for all of GM’s brands.In fall of 2018, Bob wrote, directed, and produced the acclaimed work, “Becoming Ailey,” for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 60th Anniversary Season at NY City Center. Utilizing holographic technology alongside classic theatrical craft, the piece put the voice and vision of Alvin Ailey back onstage with his beloved company.In the course of his career he has worked from Broadway to Beijing, helping clients like Disney, NBCU, ABC, Live Nation, AEG, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm gather and dazzle audiences of millions.

Amy is a Multidisciplinary Designer and Dynamic Consultant with a background in theatrical & architainment lighting and controls for immersive experiences and the built environment. Her technical knowledge spans from design development to programming, wiring, and installation, to which she has nearly 20 years of experience integrating advanced lighting and controls. She also offers graphic design and develops training modules, leads + moderates speaking engagements, and writes articles to demystify dynamic lighting and help architects, engineers, field technicians, programmers, and sales teams understand complex subjects in a modality that is aligned with their standard syntax and methods.

In this episode we are joined by Yulanda Yo-Rong Shieh, talking all things scenic design. Yulanda is a production and scenic designer based in New York, whose love of listening to stories as a kid has grown into a passion for visual storytelling. Her approach to design is always from the heart of hers to that of the characters. Born and raised in Taiwan, Yulanda has her BA in theatre and has worked as a set designer on many films produced in Taiwan and China. Since arriving in New York, she has been production designing films with collaborators around the world. She received her MFA in Design for Stage and Film at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to her film credits, Yulanda’s set design for the opera Elektra was exhibited in Prague Quadrennial in 2011.

In this episode we are joined by Alex Vásquez Dheming, talking all things lighting and production management. Alex is a Lighting Designer and Production Manager from San Salvador, El Salvador based in NYC. She's known for her work with Big Dance Theater, Nélida Tirado, Calpulli Mexican Dance, Ariel Rivka Dance, New York Theatre Ballet, Vanaver Caravan, Jacob's Pillow Dance, Lincoln Center, Center for Performance Research, Performance Space NY, Dance Manager's Collective, Rattlesticks Theater, Museo del Barrio, The Tank NYC, Dutch Kills Theater Company, Playwright Horizons, Hypokrit Productions, and Theatreworks, among others. Her multidisciplinary work has been seen around the United States, Spain (Museo Guggenheim Bilbao), and France (Cannes Film Festival). Alex holds a BFA in Production Design from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), participated in the '20/'21 Wingspace Theatrical Design Mentorship, is a Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas (SILV) alumna, and is a recipient of The Playwright Realm's inaugural International Theatermakers Award. She was a featured designer in the San Diego Rep's Latinx New Play Festival 2020.

In this episode we are joined by Stephanie Bahniuk, talking all things set and costume across theatre and television. Stephanie is a Ukrainian-Canadian theatre designer originally from Edmonton, Canada and she now resides in Brooklyn, New York. Stephanie is a graduate of the Masters of Fine Arts in Design program at the Yale School of Drama, and a recipient of the Jay Keene and Jean Griffin Keene Prize in Costume Design. She is an Artistic Associate of Pyretic Productions and recently designed the world premieres of Alina and Michael Mysterious with the company. She is currently the Costume Department Coordinator for And Just Like That, the Sex and the City reboot for HBO.

In this episode we are joined by Omar Madkour, talking all things lighting. Born to a family of engineers in Cairo, Egypt, Omar developed a passion for movie directing. For this reason, he studied stage acting, wrote a play for his undergrad thesis, and started a career as a lighting designer. His designs have been presented in various countries, festivals, and venues such as The Wallis Annenberg (Los Angeles), Maxim Gorki Theatre (Berlin), BoZar (Brussels), Shubbak Festival (London), D-CAF (Cairo), UNAM (Mexico City) among others. Credits vary from classical theatre to new works and experimental performance. Selected credits include the West Coast premiere of Young-Jean Lee’s We’re Gonna Die; the workshop production of Black Like Me; Waiting for Godot; Measure for Measure; and La Princesa, a co-devised piece which won first prize in ArtChangeUS competition. Omar cites his background in performing, directing and writing as shaping his design process, allowing it to stem from a dramaturgical approach rather than a solely aesthetic one.
