Charly Ortega is originally from Mexico and has worked for Cirque du Soleil and Dragone shows across the world. Building a career that stemmed from his childhood passion for theatre and circus, Charly studied to postgraduate level before spending the last 7 years working with Cirque and Dragone. He has a vast knowledge on traditional and modern circus history and culture, and talks to us about the differences between them, as well as his interesting life experiences.

Episode 27 - Stunts with Ian Van Cleve

Ian Van Cleve is a stunt performer who has worked all over the world in the last ten years. He is currently the writer and director for a widely successful Chinese stunt show, Project Blue Sky, which is in its fifth year. Starting out as an actor and singer in college, Ian found himself recruited for stunt work early on, which led to the start of his interesting and varied career.

Rob Winch is the head coach and acrobatic stunt specialist for a number of well-known shows. Born in London, Rob is a former gymnastic champion and started his career as an acrobat and aerialist. His 12 year performance career saw him work across cruise ships, stunt shows, musical theatre, dance, tv and film platforms.

Dawn Chiang joins us to talk about the intersection between lighting design and theatre consulting. Dawn has designed lighting for shows on Broadway and across the USA, and is also a consultant and mentor. Based in Connecticut, Dawn originally trained and worked in music and ballet, but fell in love with backstage roles in college.

Neill Frank joins us to talk all things video. Neill is a Creative Director and Producer, born in South Africa, currently based out of Dubai. He has been in the Film industry since 2001, he moved to Dubai in 2008 and he is currently the Head of Digital Content at Evolution Events . He is passionate about creating beautiful, artistic content, based on great creative ideas.

Show diver Diane Talbotier joins Ana Aguilera to discuss diving in Aquatic shows. . Diane is a SCUBA diver, more specifically a PADI Master Instructor (those who help train Dive Instructors) and one of the few SDI-TDI certified Underwater Theatrical Performer Trainers. She has a vast experience both in the dive industry and the entertainment industry. Currently, she is based out of Dubai.
